This project began in the summer of 2024 as a way of documenting the birds that Kurtis has noticed or been told about by friends. As an ongoing part of their praxis this body of work compiles a variety of works throughout the last two years. The purpose of this project is for the artist to find a way to ground themself and find a safe space to explore their connection to slowing down and letting the natural world in. This body of work includes pieces from their 2025 book “Kurt’s Bird Book”, sketchbook pieces and studies.
